Crew guide

What’s new

What changed in Diggit, on the phone and on the web, newest first.

Today’s update

Oct 14

New

File the T&M now, the customer signs later

A signature question can be set to Sign After Filing, so a T&M Sheet files without the customer’s signature and gets signed later from its page. Your company chooses who signs each form, for every Job or one Customer, and can send the signer a link by text or email. The record shows the link went out, with Send Again and Cancel Link.

New

Split a day’s hours across Change Orders

The office can split a job day’s crew hours, equipment hours and materials across Change Orders and T&M. The record shows what’s split and what’s left, like “6 of 8 split, 2 left”, and the splits can never add up to more than the day. Removing a line now lowers the Change Order Amount and the T&M Sheet Total.

New

Forms due today, on the web’s Home

Home on the web now has a Due Today list: the forms you still owe today, the same ones your phone shows, each with a button to file it. File one here or on the phone and it leaves the list.

New

The office hears when a workflow fails

When a workflow stops before it finishes, the office gets one Workflow failed notice in the Inbox. It names the workflow and links the record that started it. Test runs stay quiet.

New

Reminders that go out on time

A workflow can now run every day, every weekday, on the days you pick or once a month, at a time on your company’s clock. It can also run when a date on a record comes up, like 3 days before an inspection, and tell the person named on it. Its notices can go by email too.

New

Permission Levels keep a Change History

Each Permission Level shows who changed what and when. Restore an earlier version, or put a built-in level back with Reset to Standard. A level’s access to a List can also depend on the record itself: in the Change Orders and T&M pack, field levels can add Change Orders but can’t approve them.

New

Choose who can join which jobs

A new company setting, Crews May Join Any Job, is on unless you turn it off. When it’s off, people limited to their own jobs see only those, on the time clock too. The office adds people to a job from the Project page under Assigned People, and a field like Foreman can give the job to whoever is named in it.

New

A Free plan with Dashboards and Exports

Every company is now on a plan. Free needs no card and includes Dashboards and Exports, and a cancelled plan drops to Free and keeps working. Settings, then Billing, shows your plan, what it includes, the forms you’ve filed this month and when it renews. A Free company can upgrade to Build there.

Better

Dashboards for every company

Dashboards are now on for every company on the web, with a Dashboard tab on each job page. List tiles show every column their view has, and each choice can carry a color your company sets, so Needs Attention never shows up green.

Yesterday’s update

Oct 13

New

Diggit in your language

Each person picks one of 13 languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Tagalog and Chinese. The phone, the office site and Diggit’s messages follow it, and your company’s form and list names are translated too. Anyone can fix a translation in Settings, then Translations.

New

Sign up right on the phone

New to Diggit? Create an account in the phone app, create your company and land on Home. If you already have an account, start another company from Profile, then Company, on the phone, or from the company menu on the web, and switch between them with one tap.

Better

See what’s waiting to send

With no signal, Home lists every filing your phone is holding under Filed Today, with its name and whether it’s Waiting to send, Didn’t send or Needs your answer. Each one leaves the list as soon as it sends.

Better

Buck catches all of your first sentence

Name several forms as you start and each one opens with what you said for it. The job you name fills the form’s Project, a number said with its unit lands, “yesterday” files on yesterday, and a pick follows what your words mean.

FixedBlocked work

A busy job-site network no longer signs you out

When a whole crew shares one job-site network, Diggit no longer signs people out. A busy moment just tries again.

FixedMinor

Saved Work Performed drafts open again

A Work Performed draft saved on the phone opens from its Home card where you left off, instead of “Couldn’t load this form.”

New

Fix a filed record on the phone

Open a record you filed and tap Edit entry. Change the Work Date and the record moves to that day on the job, on Home and in Filed Today. The record shows who edited it, and an edit made with no signal goes up when the signal returns.

Now
Now: an edited Delivery shows its new Quantity, its new day, Oct 5th, and an Edited by line.

Better

Say it once, and Buck fills only that

Say “I installed three hydrants, unit H 13, Concrete Crew A did it” and the Hydrant form opens with those answers already in, and nothing you didn’t say. Your sentence is kept as the Notes. Buck files only when you tell him to, like “file it” or “send it”.

Now
Now: from one sentence, the Hydrant card opens with How Many 3, Unit ID H 13 and Crew Concrete Crew A.

FixedBlocked work

A missing signature asks you to sign

A voice-filled form that still needs a signature no longer gets stuck. A pop-up opens with just the signature pad: sign, tap Submit, and it files. Tapping the line that asks for the signature opens it too.

Now
Now: an unfinished Incident Report opens a pop-up with only the Employee Signature pad.

New

Two forms that ask the same things, filled once

The office can pair two forms that ask the same questions. When both are due on the same job and day, you answer one list of questions and both forms file. Diggit suggests forms worth pairing and lists the questions you’d answer only once.

FixedSeen a lot

Forms are due only for today’s job

Your due forms now come only from the job you picked today, and the phone asks you to pick the job again each day. The morning reminder says “Pick today’s job” when you haven’t. Forms filed in the evening stay on today instead of jumping to tomorrow.

Better

Each person gets their own line on the day card

On a job’s day card, each person’s work shows on its own line with their name, never added together with someone else’s. Tap See each person and every card is headed by that person’s name.

Better

Your own scanned PDFs, ready in seconds

In the office, a scanned PDF you upload to print filings on now reads in about 12 seconds instead of minutes. If it misses a box, draw it, move it or resize it by hand on a picture of the page.

Also last week

New

Tailgate Safety Meetings for every company

Companies that started before the Tailgate Safety Meeting form can now add it, and any other missing Starter Forms, from New. Starter Forms carry proper names, and each worker’s sign-in shows on its own line on the filed meeting.

Now
Now: a filed Tailgate Safety Meeting on Trench Safety, with each worker’s signature on its own line.

Better

Log work for any day

Work Performed opens on “What did you do?” and keeps your words as the record’s Notes. Counted work asks How many? before Next. Pick an earlier day on Home and everything you file, typed or by voice, files for that day.

Now
Now: Home with Sunday, October 4 picked, ready to file New or Work Performed for that day.

New

One card per day on a job’s Timeline

On the phone, a job’s Timeline shows one card for each day: work with its totals, like 289 LF of SDR-35 Pipe, and a count for each form, with failures in red. Tap a line to see its entries. On the web, the Type filter can now hide the types you don’t need.

Now
Now: Riverside Apartments’ Timeline shows one card for Oct 6th, with SDR-35 Pipe, Hydrant and Trench Backfill totals.

Better

Buck says what he means

When Buck asks “which one?”, he names the choices. He asks for photos before he files, tells you out loud when an answer didn’t save, and on a quiet day says “Nothing is due today.” On a Spanish call, his own lines are in Spanish too.

Better

Forms fill in what Diggit already knows

Crew Size and Crew Members fill from the job’s Schedule and show where the answer came from. Adding a new record from a form, like a new Inspector, is instant.

FixedMinor

Invites and People, tidied up

Renaming a Role keeps its pending invites working. An invite that wasn’t delivered keeps Copy invite link on screen, and People cards show each person’s email and permission level. Record pages show Save and Delete only to people who may use them.

Early last week

Oct 5 to 6

New

Add what’s missing without leaving the form

When a form asks for a record that isn’t on the list yet, like a new Inspector, type the name and tap Add, or tell Buck. It’s picked for you and the form carries on. Each List has a “Who can add” setting, and Site Inspections now pick from an Inspectors List.

Now
Now: on a Site Inspection, typing a new name under Inspector offers Add “Lee Park”.

Better

Buck keeps up with you

Words you say while Buck is filling a form, or right after a pause, now reach him. A correction changes only what you named, and the record shows its new name right away. Continue on a saved draft works the first time, and while Buck asks, the question’s tile lights up for a tap.

Better

Spanish, kept straight

A report given in Spanish always saves in English, and you can teach Buck a jobsite word by voice, like “chango” means pipe jack. Emailed PDF copies now print names like José Muñoz with their accents.

New

Forms work with no signal

Any form you can file now opens in a dead zone, even one you never opened before, and it sends exactly as you filled it when the signal comes back. Your last 2 weeks of filings open too. Home shows Offline instead of errors, and voice rests until the signal returns.

Now

New

A dashboard on every project

Each project has a Dashboard tab with big-number cards. Tap one to see a chart and the records behind it.

New

Every record opens on the phone

Tasks, crews, follow-ups and any other record now open right on the phone, with each answer in an easy-to-read tile. A filed entry opens on its photos. Choices and equipment show their names, not codes, and Edit and Delete sit in the … menu beside Back.

Now
Now: a filed record opens on the phone as a full page, with every answer in a tile.

New

Talk to Buck in Spanish

Speak Spanish and Buck answers in Spanish, reads your whole report back in Spanish and takes your corrections in Spanish. The report saves in English, and your own words are kept on it as an “As heard” copy.

Now
Now: you talk to Buck in Spanish and he asks back in Spanish while he fills in the crew and the feet.

New

Your company’s words, on the phone

Profile, then Glossary, lists the words your company uses and what they mean, plus words just for you. Add or change a word, and link it to a record, list, form or person.

Now
Now: the phone glossary lists company words and your own nicknames, like what “the big truck” means.

New

Download a job’s photos at once

On the web, Download photos saves all of a job’s photos for the day as one zip. A filing’s page has its own Download photos, and the … menu on any open photo saves that photo, its filing’s photos or the whole day.

Now
Now: on the web, the … menu on an open photo offers this photo, all photos in the filing, or all photos from that day.

Better

Faster voice that rides out a weak signal

Buck moves through each form faster. A short signal drop shows Reconnecting… and the call carries on instead of pausing.

Now
Now: the signal drops mid-call, Buck shows Reconnecting and picks up where you left off.

Better

Buck finds your truck

Name your own truck and Buck finds it. If what you say today doesn’t match what he noted before, he asks you in plain words. If your company has no vehicles yet, an admin can add the first one by voice.

Now

Better

Pick the job once

The job you picked fills the form’s Project question for you. + Add opens already linked to the job and what the form picked, and a completed form shows which project and equipment you chose.

FixedMinor

Switching jobs during a call files to the new job

If you change the job while talking to Buck, everything you file after that goes to the new job, not the one you started on.

FixedMinor

Voice cards keep what you enter

An answer you change by hand stays changed when Buck is slow to reply. A multi-select keeps your picks, a resumed draft files once, and the voice screen waits for a photo to finish uploading before it closes. Long question names wrap onto two lines.

FixedMinor

A form filed in the office counts

When the office files a form from the web’s Forms menu, it no longer shows as still due on the phone.

FixedMinor

Work logged by hand shows its checklist

The job’s day shows how many steps are done, and opening the entry shows each step with its note and photo.

Now
Now: work filed by hand shows its checklist, with each step marked Done, N/A or not answered.

New

New Style voice cards

Every answer on the form is a tile. The question Buck is on is framed in teal, and each answer gets a check as it lands. The text box shows only when Buck is waiting on you, so nothing flashes while he fills.

New Style is off until you turn it on: Profile, then Voice agent, then New Style cards.

Old cards

New Style

Better

A calmer, easier-to-read voice screen

Your words and Buck’s words now fade in gently and stay put, with no sliding, cropping or cut-off job names. A long reply from Buck scrolls in its box.

Before
Before: on the voice screen, Buck's question above a gravel delivery card fades out and is cut off at the top.
After

FixedBlocked work

The app opens on Home with no signal

If you’re already signed in, opening the app in a dead zone now takes you to Home instead of the sign-in screen. When the signal comes back, it catches up by itself.

Now
Now: the phone in airplane mode opens straight to Home, with the current job and the Clock in button.

FixedMinor

Everything fits with large phone text

If your phone is set to large or extra-large text, Home’s buttons, the week strip, Projects search and sort, and Profile buttons now fit cleanly. Nothing runs off the screen or gets cut off.

Before
Before: with extra-large text, Home's week strip cuts off the day numbers and the month runs into Thursday.
After
After: with extra-large text, every day in Home's week strip shows in full.

FixedMinor

A screen that fails shows Retry

If a screen hits a problem, you now get a Retry button instead of the app closing on you.

FixedMinor

Skipped questions stay blank

If you have nothing to add for an optional question, Buck leaves it empty. He no longer fills in “X”, “n/a”, “none” or a made-up email or phone number.

Better

Faster answers, no repeat questions

Buck no longer asks “same as your earlier call?” about things you already told him, so answers come back quicker late in the day. He also stops interrupting a form to bring up an old draft.

Before
Before: in the middle of a site inspection, Buck stops to ask about an unfinished gravel delivery draft from the day before.
After
After: Buck asks only the inspection question: did it pass, fail, or is it still pending.

FixedMinor

Typing an answer never files the form

If you type an answer into the voice form and tap Next, the form stays open. Buck only files it when you tell him to.

FixedMinor

Shared phones stay private after sign-out

When someone signs out or switches company, their voice card is cleared. The next person to sign in on that phone never sees it.

Before
Before: after a sign-out, the next person's voice screen still shows the last person's filed backfill card.
After
After: the next person's voice screen opens empty, with only "How can I help you?"

FixedBlocked work

You only see what you can use

The New list only offers forms you’re allowed to file, so you’re never turned away after filling one in. Blank or “Tap to retry” items for records you can’t open are gone.

FixedSeen a lot

Log work goes straight to your work

Log work is ready as soon as Buck is. Tell him the work you did and he opens it right away. He no longer opens the call by saying he can’t do something.

Now
Now: Buck has opened the 8-inch pipe work item and asks which crew laid it.

Better

Voice records the moment you press

Recording starts as soon as you touch the button, and what you say while it connects isn’t lost. A slow connection no longer leaves a stuck call: you see one clear “Can’t connect” and the next try works. After 20 seconds of quiet, the call pauses until you talk or tap again.

Now

New

A guided day for foremen

Start All tells you in one line what was left from yesterday on that job, and opens only today’s forms. When a job’s forms are done, Buck offers the next job that still has forms. At the end of the day, you see what’s left on each job and can sign each one off.

Now
Now: Buck says there are 2 other forms to complete on another job and asks if you want to keep going.

New

Say which forms don’t apply

During any voice call you can say “no inspections, no deliveries” and Buck marks those forms N/A right away, then tells you what’s still due. Undo works the same as before.

Before
Before: Home shows 3 forms due today on the job.
After
After: Buck marks Site Inspection and Material Delivery N/A for today and says the Incident Report is still due.

New

Log checklist work and work stages

Work that has no count, like testing a system, can now be logged as a stage or as a checklist. Buck suggests the usual checklist and you correct it, and he files your work under the closest existing item instead of refusing it.

Before
Before: testing a system could only be filed as a new item with a count unit, like each or linear feet.
After
After: Buck's checklist card for manhole lid resetting, with four steps and which ones are done, ready to file.

FixedBlocked work

Photos are never lost on a weak signal

When you add several photos with poor service, they keep uploading and retry on their own. The form shows “Uploading 2 of 5” and a Retry button, so no photo is dropped.

Before
Before: on a weak signal, all 5 trench photos read "Upload failed" and Save is greyed out.
After
After: all 5 trench photos uploaded and Save is ready.

New

Delete an entry you filed

You can now delete a form you filed, after a confirm that names it. That form then shows as due again for that day, so you can refill it or mark it N/A.

Before
Before: a filed daily report with only an Edit entry button.
After
After: tapping Delete entry asks "Delete your Foreman Daily from today?" with Cancel and Delete.

Earlier updates

Sep 24 to 25

Better

App updates install themselves on Home

Important updates now install while you’re on Home, never in the middle of a form. When a new store version is out, the app tells you.

Before
Before: Home with no word about a newer app version.
After
After: Home shows "A new version of Diggit is available" with Not now and Update buttons.

FixedSeen a lot

Voice connects reliably

Voice greets you with “How can I help you?” and the button waits until voice is really ready. Holding it no longer drops the call or sends you back to Home. Taking a photo during a call no longer causes an error pop-up.

Before
Before: the voice screen opens on "Nothing filed this session yet." while the button still spins.
After
After: the voice screen opens with "How can I help you?" and the mic button ready.

Better

Home and Calendar show your day clearly

Home has a Filed today list of your own filings, and a filed row opens with Edit. You sign off a day right on the Calendar. Drafts are marked Draft, swipe away like an owed form, and file for the day you started them. A form marked N/A shows on the job with who marked it.

Before
Before: Home with no list of what you filed today.
After
After: Home shows a Filed today list with a rebar delivery you filed.

Better

Say quantities your way

Say “yards”, “CY”, “LF”, “loads” or “PSI” and it lands on the right unit the first time. No unit is ever refused, and Buck works out totals like twelve 15-foot pipes with a real calculator.

Before
Before: a long unit list of short codes like Ft and Yd to pick from by hand.
After
After: a material delivery of 12 of gravel lands on Cubic yards by itself.

New

Faster forms and quick job notes

You can add a quick note to a job, by hand or by voice. Forms fill in your location from GPS and the project from your Home job, and + New lets you choose to talk it through or fill it in by hand. Photos upload faster.

Before
Before: Home with New and Work performed, and no way to add a note.
After
After: Home has an Add note button, and two job notes show under Filed today.
